Construction Management - Celebrating 100 years in business, growth creates the need for Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and Construction Management Trainees to work in our Nashville office.  Solid work ethic, time management, multi-tasking and problem solving skills required.  Duties: manage subcontractors, scheduling, material management, punch list corrections and monitor job safety.  Multifamily residential construction preferred but we will train ambitious entry-level learner.  Very competitive salary with benefits and 401k.  Email your resume and letter of interest to careers@grossbuilders.com.

Maintenance Technician- Professional Tech needed for the overall facility maintenance of a beautiful apartment community.  Direct experience and/or training in residential maintenance strongly preferred, but we will consider an entry-level candidate with a solid work ethic.  You should have basic plumbing and electrical experience or training with a solid mechanical aptitude. You’ll receive written work orders and verbal instructions to perform a wide variety of apartment maintenance repairs.  You should enjoy hands-on assignments and possess solid service skills.  Troubleshooting, teamwork and customer service skills required.  Please apply at the location most convenient to you: 1.) Maintenance Manager - Working "hands-on" supervisor needed to oversee the facility maintenance at one of our beautiful apartment communities in Murfreesboro.  Strong supervision, communication, training, and problem-solving experience as well as a working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry are required.  Candidates with direct experience in residential facility maintenance and with HVAC certifications strongly preferred.

Duties include the effective delegation of assignments, establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet schedules, implementing changes to increase productivity, motivating team members, managing inventory control and requisitions, and inspecting the quality of completed work.

Regional Manager (South) - Due to the continued growth of the company, we're searching for an additional Regional Manager to direct the operations of several middle Tennessee apartment communities.  Our Regional Managers hold responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these business units.

This opportunity offers an immediate challenge and genuine chance to contribute to the ongoing success of the organization.  This position holds a wide variety of interesting job duties within a dynamic and expanding organization.  This is where you want to be in 2017!

The successful candidate will work closely with Property Managers and Maintenance Managers to resolve higher level resident issues, address staffing needs, suggest rental rate adjustments and oversee necessary maintenance repairs.  You will also gather quote specifications and negotiate contracts with outside vendors to complete major projects.

You will perform regular apartment property inspections to determine the accuracy and timeliness of maintenance repairs and administrative functions.  This position involves travel for on-site visits to your assigned properties.  You will review occupancy reports to ensure that applications, selection of residents and assignment of dwelling units are in accordance with our policies and legal compliance.  You will also study occupancy trends/turnover rates and requirements of applicants to recommend practical changes to enhance operations.

From this information, you will prepare summary reports to keep upper management well informed regarding your assigned properties.  This data will also allow you to provide valuable input into our marketing strategies and site improvement plans.

Your cost analysis will assist in preparing annual budget reports for optimal operational efficiency.  This includes long range planning of your facilities' major maintenance and renovation needs.

Core Competencies:

  • 7-10 years of related mid to upper level management experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related field
  • Proven experience and results with multi-unit management preferred
  • Provide consistent direction, leadership and feedback to ensure adherence with our corporate mission and goals
  • Attain budgeted sales results and controls expenses to budget
  • Drive our performance management culture through continuous process improvement
  • Promote the effective use of technology
  • Evaluate, coach and develop employees to foster our promote from within culture
  • Sound judgment, effective delegation techniques and stable employment history
